ABQ Live the Magazine Customer Reviews. Went to the Effex Nightclub Blackout Ball Nov 1st. I have two gripes with them. First is that they were promoting a 2for1 early bird special, however the mobile version of their ticketing put the the special at the bottom of the ticket selection and they put some other early bird special at the top so I still ended up paying $73.68 instead of the $30 I was expecting to pay. Of course since I bought the tickets less than 7 days before they event, they weren't responsive nor working with me to rectify the ticket type and/or refund because their refund policy does not accommodate if it's less than 7 days before the event. My second gripe is that Effex used to be a safe space for LGBTQ+ customers, but that night was not only over-crowded (probably past legal capacity) but about 95% or more of the patrons were straight couples and very thuggish looking guys. I did not feel safe there. Nice. I had a cosplay photo of me taken by a ABQ-Live photographer at a convention in January 2020. Was given their card and said photos would be up on their site in a few weeks. After not seeing photos from that con on both their site and Facebook page after several months, I sent a email asking about them. I received no reply. I messaged again via Facebook a month or two later asking if the convention photos would be posted. Message was seen, but again, no reply.
As a cosplayer I'm use to not seeing photos being posted or sent, but when it's lots of other people not seeing their photos too, that's when I get peeved. Any sort of reply would have been great, but knowing they saw the message and didn't reply is super unprofessional. It's sad to say I'm getting use to it with Albuquerque photographers though.
