The Vegas Valley Dog Obedience Club was chartered by the AKC in 1962, and our first match happened in 1964. We've showcased more than fifty shows and trained hundreds of dogs in the last 58 years. We have also obtained many obedience and sports titles with our canine friends.
This is the list of Obedience Classes offered by VVDOC. There may be other classes as well, depending on the student's interest and the availability of instructors. You can find a complete list of classes on our Schedule Page. Classes are for six weeks and are taught by Club volunteers who train and own their dogs. The use of slip or buckle collars (check chain, shock collars, prong collars, or harnesses that give you too much control are not allowed). No harsh methods of training are used. Food, toys, or anything else that motivates your dog is welcomed. It is a back-to-basics obedience course. Your dog will learn to behave at home and in public, setting a great example for the family. The exercises consist of learning to walk nicely on-lead, sit, lie down, stay, and come when called. This class is for dogs older than 9 months.
