Ang Ray
Ang Ray gets his inspiration from renowned artists like Picasso, Delacroix, and Van Gogh. Ang Ray, an artist from Borneo in South East Asia is a self-taught artist who moved to Singapore at age 13 to further his education. He studied economics and business administration but later moved to London. He has lived in Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, and also spent time in New York City. He has held art exhibitions in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Kota Kinabalu, and New York City. Ang Ray feels passionate about meeting and connecting with people from all walks of life, irrespective of their religion or culture. He embraces their varied cultural backgrounds and expresses that world view in his art. Ang Ray creates art that emotionally connects with the viewer, inviting them to spiritually connect with him. Initially, he was impressed by Post Impressionist & Expressionist artists such as van Gogh and Seurat. Later his works were influenced by Kandinsky & de Kooning, Abstract Expressionist artists Pollack, Hoffman, and Gorky. Today, Ang Ray continues to develop his art in three main series.
