I hired Arthur Lebedin from Lebedin Kofman LLP to represent me in a collections case. He agreed to take my case and claimed we had an excellent chance to win or reach a good settlement especially because he is very familiar & friendly with the opposing counsel. He said he would charge me a 1-time $1500 (everything included). After charging my credit card, he stopped taking any of my calls and only replied to very few of my email concerns. Then he stopped answering my emails and calls and I got a default judgment passed against me because he never replied to the court or showed up. After I started complaining to him, he still wouldn't take my calls and assigned a paralegal which started apologizing and he said he knew nothing about the laws in NY or NJ because he's in Michigan. All he did was just relay my messages back to him. I had a court officer assigned to my case and got letters that my property is going to be seized. I called and settled personally in 2 minutes and had to pay the court officer fees. My credit got severely damaged because of his non-actions and I am filing a legal malpractice lawsuit and have reported him to the office of attorney ethics in NY & NJ. This attorney must be stopped. He just took my money and ran, cost me more money and destroyed my credit.
