About New York Peace Institute New York Peace Institute aims to build a new culture that promotes peace in communities. We can help with any conflict, whether it's between two people or dozens, or two groups. Our Mission Statement Every argument begins with a disagreement. New York Peace Institute helps people learn to resolve conflicts peacefully. We teach people to resolve disputes by developing creative and lasting solutions. We work in communities and organizations. In our role as mediators, we train and certify individuals to become mediators. New York Peace Institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion We believe that diversity, equity and inclusion is at the heart of what we do. Each member of our board, staff and roster of volunteers contributes unique perspectives and experiences. These voices should be heard and integrated into decision-making. Diversity, equity and inclusion are not easy. We expect our staff, volunteers and board members to be open-minded, compassionate, and inclusive. Our goal is to create an inclusive organization. A place where everyone can be heard is one that includes people who have lived with and experienced systemic bias. Our staff, volunteers and board members must feel comfortable engaging, educating, and discussing issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
