The Law Office of James V. Barilla is pleased to present customer feedback obtained from the Better Business Bureau. Customers have a chance to express their grievances and experiences, which are very vital for both the company and potential clients. The feedback collected includes: 1. James assisted with a custody issue as my regular attorney was unavailable at the time. I'm not sure why, but he has refused to give me Consent to Adopt paperwork that is very much needed for my son's adoption to be completed but also has ignored all correspondence asking for itemized billing and distribution of funds given for our retainer. ETA PLEASE SEND THE CONSENT PAPERWORK. THIS WOULD STREAMLINE THE PROCESS OF MY BOYS BEING ADOPTED. MANY calls, texts and emails have been sent asking for this information over the past two years. I have filed a grievance with the Lorain County Bar Association to resolve this issue and to obtain the Consent to Adoption paperwork and to get back the unused portion of my retainer. Despite representing me, I have never met James in person. There is no physical office to visit in the event he is unavailable. I would avoid at all costs and consult a more reputable lawyer who believes in communicating with their clients. I would leave less than one star if possible. 2. I caught this person stalking my social media They even sent me a friend request, told me to my face that they weren't representing a client then showed up last minute. Does not care about children or women Whatsoever and shows major disrespect. I'm literally representing myself and doing a better job than this guy. I am giving 5 stars only because I have such high regard for the individuals who referred me to this office. Unfortunately the fact I am broke "you dont have any money" from what this attorney said to me many times along with a harsh comment about the next time I deal with professionals I should be more prepared. This was even after I disclosed I have a rare and acute case of whats called MCPTSD in which he acknowledged but it did me no good to bring it up. But to answer your question sir regarding the "whats the golden goose in the end for me"... Ill tell you 1. Personally I never got the chance to mention but still feel it necessary to... I appreciate the Jerry Garcia tie. My deceased brother I told you of taught me well when it came to dressing up like that of a gentlemen.
