I would head to work every Monday, like many others, asking myself one important question: was this my job? The answer was always "yes." However, future uncertainties would cloud my judgment, and my inner self always ached for a better life. The change in Cincinnati was something extraordinary and was worth looking forward to. In that year, I decided to venture into something new for once. It was not about making money or changing my career; instead, it was a personal project that I hoped would light up my life. My answer was not my salary or career but a change in the 40-hour work week that I always feared. My view of the entire city changed that day. If a city can change, then possibly, I can organize myself too. My journey with Urbana Cafe started in 2013 and has become an essential aspect of my life. Reflecting back, I am glad that I kept the outside voice telling me no at bay. Almost a decade into business, goals remain the same, but the scope has broadened. It is not my story anymore; it is our story. We owe it to ourselves, our customers, the city, and global environmental changes. Everything we undertake should add value and not take away. We are joined by talented people who are stronger and better than us and share the same goals in the changing city.
