Lindsay Gallery: 20th Anniversary. Specializing in contemporary self-taught, folk, & outsider art. Open by appointment. Antoinette Savage's ancestors inspire her. They were part of the Great Migration, and she uses their stories to talk about reconstruction and the migration of Black people from the South to the North. Her family members have also served as inspiration for her artwork. For this new body of work, Antoinette has focused on less specific people and stories and archetypes of African American history. For this show, she wanted to be quiet and let the ancestors speak to her.
