Reliable New place to call home: January 2018, after six incredible years of operation, Long Street Collective was excited to announce they would need to look for a new place to call home. A downtown redevelopment means the current construction plans include the parking lot we use. MSC Tattoo was the only choice. However, we were unable to sign a contract for anything less than three years. This five-person company is now expanding. The office is quite roomy. It has a glass front and a door that we can keep open all day. It is gorgeous. It is located on a quiet residential street right down from the bike path. Then I realized there are so many tattoo shops in Clintonville. What am I to do? It's not our intention to steal from other people. How dare we learn and create. I'm not thinking about moving into OSCAM. I don't want to disrupt the neighbors and bring down the businesses or the residents. Here's what I'm thinking... Three great things. It will be available as a private studio. It's very low-key. It will say positive things about the studio in the windows and that is it. We will keep the studio semi-private unless it is busy. I hope that we never become a nuisance to the residents or the businesses around me. It's so amazing to collaborate with other shops, and not in a competition mindset.
