About this business

Feedback from Customers: This is my summary of feedback for Advantage Dental+ Lucky enough to get 1 star because you have to leave one.. terrible place. Every appointment I have gets canceled due to one provider. How is anyone supposed to take care of their teeth when all you do is cancel the appointment and never see them. Then they try to say we called and left a voicemail. No you didnt, I found out when j showed up to my appointment time like everytime! Then she says had you come like 20 minutes earlier we could've seen you due to a cancelation. Why would I have been here when it wasn't my time?! Don't even waste your time. Was great and had an amazing teeth cleaning experience. I am writing this to urge others to seek a second opinion before committing to any treatment at Advantage Dental. My experience here has been defined by predatory billing, administrative incompetence, and a disturbing lack of empathy for pediatric patients. Misdiagnosis & Overtreatment I was informed by this office that I had two cavities and was pressured to apply a silver diamine fluoride ("black stuff") treatment immediately because the dentist was booked out 8 months. Feeling skeptical, I sought a second opinion from another dentist. After a thorough exam, it was confirmed that I had zero cavities. This office attempted to perform unnecessary procedures on healthy teeth. Traumatic Pediatric Care During a tooth extraction for my young daughter, the dentist ignored her clear signs of severe distress. Despite my daughter screaming in pain and my insistence that the local anesthetic was not working, the dentist dismissed her pain as "made up" and refused to stop. I demanded her to stop immediately. I was then referred to an oral surgeon who resolved the issue in five minutes with proper numbing. The lack of compassion and refusal to listen to a parent’s concern is unacceptable The oral surgeon was not covered by my dental insurance and I was forced to pay out of pocket because the dentist was incompetent. Billing and Administrative Negligence The front office operations are chaotic and predatory with a wide range of unethical, aggressive, and deceptive financial practices used by this provider to extract more money from a patient than is actually owed or necessary.  For example; A) Lack of Transparency This office failed to notify me of a small balance ($100) at the time of my visit or through standard billing cycles, only to "surprise" me with it months later via a collections agency. This is a tactic used to bypass a patient’s right to dispute a charge or use insurance to cover it. B) Double-Dipping (Attempted) This office claims they have "no record" of a payment I made a year ago and demanded I prove it with bank statements, they are effectively trying to get me to pay for the same service twice. Because they know many people lose track of old receipts, they bank on patients just paying the "small" fee again to make the problem go away. C) The "Collections" Threat. Using a collections agency for a small, uncommunicated debt is considered an aggressive and predatory tactic. It puts the patient’s credit score at risk as a way to force immediate payment without allowing for a discussion about the validity of the bill. D) Upselling Unnecessary Care This is the "medical" side of predatory billing. By telling me that I had two cavities when I actually had none, the office was trying to bill my insurance (and me) for procedures that were clinically unnecessary. This is referred to as over-treatment for profit. We’ve also had many problems with; Scheduling: I have waited nearly an hour for an appointment only to be told their "computers had an error" and I wasn’t on the schedule, with no apology for the mistake. (For scheduled appointments plan on waiting 15-30 minutes for your appointment. (They also ask you to arrive early 15 minutes early.) Because of extreme wait times, appointments are rushed. For example, my cleaning was stopped halfway because they “ran” out of time and blamed it on plaque. I’m sorry but less than 30 minutes for x-rays and a cleaning is completely unacceptable and then blaming the client is beyond ridiculous. Final Verdict: This office prioritizes billing over patient health and safety. Between the misdiagnosis of cavities and the traumatic experience they put my daughter through, I cannot recommend them to anyone. Please protect your family and your wallet by going elsewhere. Great care from everyone involved. Short wait times great service. I’m trying to get in contact with the office, they never answer their phones. This is actually something serious and I’m in excruciating pain. Great to know my dentist office is NEVER available when it’s actually important. When i show up in office, they are seen talking to each other gossiping about personal matters. This is consistently every time so I know it’s the whole team and not just a few women. Please FIRE YOUR FRONT DESK ASSISTANTS AND GET NEW ONES! You’re wasting your money by paying people who do not do their jobs. They are giving Advantage dental the worst name. My mom & I both go here, along with friends of mine. My friends say the exact same thing. (Yelp Reprisal, 12/7/21) Comment Text 4 of 78: (Yelp Reprisal, 12/7/21) Assez longue attente en salle de soins mais excellent services reçus, je me porte mieux. Merci beaucoup Text 5 of 78: (Yelp Reprisal, 12/7/21) Exactamente atención Text 6 of 78: (Yelp Reprisal, 12/7/21) Excellent hygienist today. Text 7 of 78: (Yelp Reprisal, 12/7/21) I hate this dentist office. I wish I had never came here. Text 8 of 78: (Yelp Reprisal, 12/7/21) Dentists we've had are great staff is not. We've been patients here for a year or so now. I've never had anyone ever answer the phones!! Or even return messages. When I've had time drive there to cancel or schedule appointments there is usually at least 4 girls at the front all socializing and not answering calls. Very frustrating hope you all get your staff figured out.
