Born and raised in Salem, Kevin T. Lafky is a native Oregonian. He graduated from Sprague High School in 1977 and then spent a year-and-a-half at the University of California at Berkeley before transferring to the University of Oregon, where he graduated with both history and economics degrees and Phi Beta Kappa honors in 1981. Kevin passed the Oregon Bar Exam immediately after law school at the University of Washington, Seattle in 1985. Kevin spent a year abroad and then worked for two years as a judicial law assistant for Judge John Buttler of the Oregon Court of Appeals and Judge William Riggs before starting his career in 1988. He worked with his father Elton "Bud". Kevin has been active in many community groups and served on several committees that were dedicated to improving the downtown of Salem. Kevin was a member of the Oregon State Bar Board of Governors from 1995 to 1998. Kevin is thankful for the opportunities he's had since 1988 to represent individuals, businesses and all kinds of people in a wide range of cases and issues. Kevin has been involved in a wide range of civil and criminal matters.
