While walking dogs for a pet sitter in Pittsburgh, PA, I realized that there were many other people who needed professional pet services. I decided to pursue my passion for animals by enrolling in an animal behavior program and graduating. SCPL was launched after gaining knowledge and experience to satisfy the growing demand for dog-walking services in Pittsburgh. In my region, I leveraged a local dog daycare to form a business relationship, created policies and procedures typical of high-quality pet care, and authored a handbook for staff to follow. I helped open new stores and franchised outlets as well. Two years later, my full attention was at SCPL, so I left the dog-daycare. In 2019, I began offering consulting services to pet care providers who wanted to start their enterprise. This program allows pet care professionals to access the education and tools needed to expand their business. SCPL uses capturing to encourage the desired behaviors. It is the simplest and fastest way to instruct dogs and people how to work together. Slow and steady progress is the most effective way to grow and understand. We teach our customers how to manage their environment to prevent problem behavior and then build upon that foundation with productive learning sessions.
