The taxpayers of Pennsylvania have registered 1,004,000 pleasure boats as of October 1, 2009, and Western Pennsylvania has its share of them. There are many types of pleasure boats plying the waterways of our area, including pontoons, sailboats, cabin cruisers, and jet skis. The same rules apply to the safe operation and maintenance of boats as apply to highways. If the rules for safe boating are flouted and there is an accident, it may be necessary to take legal action to recover personal harm or injury.
