Unicoi Animal Hospital is a veterinary clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care to the pets of our community. We strive to help our beloved patients live longer, happier lives. Unicoi Animal Hospital believes that patients are not just animals, they are part of the family. Dr. Shelton graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She was born and raised in Erwin and always dreamed of staying here to serve the veterinary needs of her community. Her dream came true when she was offered a position at Unicoi Animal Hospital in 2001. She was able to purchase the practice in 2008 and has been the sole practitioner since. Dr. Shelton is a member of the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She is also a participating veterinarian in the Morris Animal Foundation's Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. Dr. Shelton married her high school sweetheart, Ed Shelton, and has a son, Austin. Her furry child, Elle, is an English Labrador. Dr. Shelton loves family time when she is not working. She also enjoys traveling, time on the lake, and cheering for the Tennessee Vols.
