Reliable Albert Cook Plumbing Co. was established by Albert Cook and Eleanora Cook (affectionately known as Cookie) in 1955. They started the company in their house with a single truck. Their original slogan was "Dependent Service at Reasonable Price." The firm expanded until it moved to 1013 East Parkway in 1957. Their new location was opposite Liberty Land. In Memphis, Liberty Land was known as the Fairgrounds Merry-Go-Round. The Cooks grew their business before relocating to 2101 Central Avenue. They started the Cook Lumber Company in the new location.
