When I opened my law practice in 1995, I committed myself to providing personal client service. I have maintained that commitment as my practice has grown over the years. With the help of my staff, I personally investigate, prepare, negotiate, and if necessary, try every case I take on. I pride myself on having a firm grasp of my clients’ situations and their goals. In the area of family law, I handle divorce settlements, child custody and visitation agreements, modifications of prior divorce and custody orders, enforcement actions, relocations, adoptions, name changes, prenuptial agreements and other matters. I am a founding member of the Austin Collaborative Law Group. Collaborative law practice is a new form of alternative dispute resolution for family law cases in Texas. In Texas, child support is determined by the statutory guidelines contained in the family law code. However, there are circumstances when the family judge can order the parent without primary residential custody to pay a higher or lower amount than the guidelines. I’m Gregory Hitt, a family law attorney in Austin, Texas. I help people in Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties understand their rights and obligations when it comes to child support.
