Gallery + art studios open Saturdays 12-5 + by appointment. We love planes. Kiah integrates movement into her work and makes it still. She organizes and transforms her dynamic energy into tangible, visible objects. Consumed by every piece, Kiah’s active mind gradually slows down. Drawing and painting become therapeutic and meditative, helping her reduce anxiety. In the pursuit of varying aesthetics, processes, and techniques, her media includes acrylic, ink, watercolor, and spray paint, depending on the piece, and previous layers of paintings, drawings, and mixed media. The unpredictability, fluidity, and flexibility of her materials allow her to create as each piece evolves and solves its own problem visually. After closing her studio at the end of 2019, Kiah took a brief hiatus from the artworld, not realizing what 2020 would bring. She experienced great loss and sadness in the next few years; nevertheless, it was a time of growth and discovery. Rather than worry about her future, Kiah embraced the power and peace that the present moment offers by releasing expectations and freeing herself from attachments. Some of her earliest works, those produced in 2019, and those created most recently are included in the show. For Kiah, an artist, making art can illuminate the ever-changing path of the Here and Now. The journey is never wrong.
