About this business

Founded in 1996, Imagine Art has become a Christian ministry and 501c3 non-profit that empowers artists with disabilities to become creative leaders and placemakers. Creative spaces mean leadership, making, and transformation. Our community includes artists of all disciplines and non-artists. The arts are the foundation of our core services. Artists are the focus of these services, but many non-artists are attracted by the high standard of arts. The disability community is a service target and not the limit. Our core service participants have disabilities too. We have produced a creative and inclusive creative community. Creative spaces create an environment that both reflects and facilitates the potential of creative places for change and transformation. We want to be an innovative model for service delivery. We creatively use disability-related resources, such as pre-vocational money and Medicaid long-term care resources, to empower people with disabilities. This research is critical because it shows that vision and purpose in life have changed due to service delivery. Imagine Art's community artist leaders are catalysts for system change. It is also essential to see the arts and other social sectors in a broader context. Long-term and day habilitation, vocational programming, housing and affordable support, peer support, food security, and other services can all be provided in this way.
