I repeatedly asked to prepare for trial, review strategy, and file pretrial motions that addressed the constitutional violations in my case. These requests were ignored or refused. I specifically asked that motions be filed and that the jury be educated on the relevant law, particularly regarding my First Amendment rights. None of this was done. My attorney explicitly stated that she was more concerned about upsetting the District Attorney and maintaining her working relationship with him for other cases than advocating aggressively on my behalf. This statement alone severely undermined my confidence in her loyalty and effectiveness as my counsel. I also made it clear that I wanted to testify in my own defense. My attorney refused to allow this, without adequately explaining the reasoning or ensuring my rights were protected. As a result, key facts and constitutional issues were never presented to the jury. Important arguments regarding violations of my rights were omitted, and the defense presented was incomplete and ineffective. I felt unheard, unprepared, and poorly represented throughout the process. Based on my experience, I would never trust this firm to represent me again, nor would I recommend them to anyone who expects their attorney to zealously defend their rights rather than prioritize relationships with prosecutors.
