Edward Kneezell planned the San Jacinto Adult Learning Center, which was constructed in 1905. El Paso's oldest school continues to stand. The land was sold by Joseph Magoffin to the City School Board, and this school was constructed. It was abandoned as an elementary school in 1976. Those who lived in the east of downtown were accommodated by this school. It has high ceilings, wooden floors, and steam heaters, making it a typical architecture for its time.
