Karen was honored with the Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association’s 2009 “Community Service Award” for her exceptional efforts in canine aggressive issues. The Association of Pet Dog Trainers awarded her the 2010 “Community Educator of the Year Award.” Karen was also certified through the IAABC as a dog behavior consultant, one of only 200 in the United States. The stipulations included over 500 hours, a minimum of three years' experience as a dog behavior consultant, and 400 hours of continued education. Three case studies and four written scenarios, including queries on terminology, techniques, and assessment, were also required. Karen specializes in reactivity, aggression, and aggression-related problems and is a respected seminar speaker across the country. In Dallas and Tarrant County, she also offers her custom Reactive Integration class. Karen competes with Cassidy, her rescue Golden Retriever, in AKC Obedience and Rally.
