If you're in trouble and need someone squared away, who won't shrink when the government plays hardball, Patrick McLain is your man. I do not know how to express how pleased I am. This review is going to be long and messy, but in brief I would recommend these lawyers to ANYONE who needed legal help, especially if your military unit is trying to pull a fast one. With all the mind-games and scare tactics the unit was trying to pull on me... Mr. Bouffard was always there to reassure with the facts and set the record straight. The most insane part was realizing how scared they are of my lawyer. Many other people in my unit had lawyers... But the unit behaved differently around me and with my lawyer. Not because of me, but because of my Lawyer Mr. Bouffard. The best example to explain it: as a private I had a Captain escorting me around base to attempt and make sure things that were supposed to already be done were getting done. Anyone who is Military knows that's unheard of and speaks for itself. A Captain does not escort a private around base! I have no doubt if it was not for Mr. Bouffard my outcome would have been entirely different. The unit was trying to play games and throw me under the bus... and then I got Mr. Bouffard, instantly they started attempting to play by the book. The best part was not the fact that I had someone who could supervise and keep them on good behavior... The best part was no matter what I was going through or what Mr. Bouffard was dealing with. At any time of the day, they were there to hear me out and support me. I had a few last minute notice things happen and still Mr. Bouffard was always present to take my phonecall and handle the situation. His attentiveness and care was is if I was his only client and I was all that mattered. I cannot stress how helpful it was to know at any moment I could pick up my phone and call Mr. Bouffard and he was ready. Where other people would call their lawyers and have to schedule an appointment between them and the leadership. Mr. Bouffard was always ready for what ever game the unit wanted to play. Johnny on the Spot. One of the biggest fears I had is I would get a lawyer and the lawyer would be in the "boys club" and not want to go against my unit for fear of ruining their own personal relationships and connections and such... Mr. Bouffard was 100% on my side, no politics, no 'boys club', only cared about what is right. To have a lawyer with no political ties to the base or unit and had my back no matter what.... It's more than I could ever have asked for! I know I'm giving all credit to Mr. Bouffard, but there are others in the office that were on my case as well. I just don't know much about them because I didn't have to go through back alleys to talk to my lawyer, I always had direct communication with him. This is not to take anything away from what Mrs. McLain or Mrs. Ochoa did for my case or anyone else who was involved... I just don't know much about that because my communication was always with Mr. Bouffard himself. The nicest thing is Mr. Bouffard was honest about my case but respected my wishes on the outcome I wanted. He told me the evidence to support me was strong and expressed his desire to fight and not take their offer. But he respected my wishes of just wanting to get it over with and wanting to end this fiasco as soon as possible, taking the route to end it the soonest instead of the route of correcting the wrongs. This Roller Coaster was a truly once in a lifetime experience. And I am so blessed by God to have had Mr. Bouffard, Mrs. McLain, and Mrs. Ochoa on my case. I have no doubt that without them, I would be singing a very different tune. Because before I got them, my Unit was going to steam roll me and try to 'make an example out of me'.... But they stopped that steam roller dead in its tracks! I had a bigger list and rant, but Google reviews has made me condense my long list of praises. If you are alone and have no one that is on your side. There are two people I know that will help: Jesus, and Mr. Bouffard (in that order). I found myself in a difficult situation as a foreigner involved in a criminal case. The Law Office of Patrick J. McLain did an outstanding job and successfully negotiated an exceptional outcome with the prosecution. The entire team: Mr. McLain, the paralegal staff, and particularly Brian Bouffard demonstrated the utmost professionalism, empathy, and humanity throughout the process.
