In 1953, the Alamo Dog Obedience Club was founded, becoming the first obedience organization in San Antonio, Texas. It is a club for dog training that fosters obedience and agility. The Alamo Dog Obedience Club is dedicated to coaching dogs for companionship and well-mannered behavior and to obedience trials. The training and improved behavior sections of the organization hold classes for training and improved behavior. The Club aims to encourage good sportsmanship and cooperation with other groups that train and improve the behavior of dogs. The Club's mission is to encourage good sportsmanship and cooperation with other groups in training and improving the behavior of dogs. The Club's place is located at Northeast San Antonio. Initially, its training classes were conducted in the parking lots of San Antonio until it acquired property in Northeast San Antonio using funds from members' contributions. Obedience trials, an annual rally, and an event that proposes agility, and obedience tests are held using this parcel of land. These events are all conducted according to the rules, regulatory requirements, and standards of the American Kennel Club.

The Alamo Dog Obedience Club has many positive reviews of trainers, especially Joni and Matt. Many clients appreciate the enthusiasm and knowledge that Joni and Matt bring to classes, helping them to connect with their pets and start training on the right foot. Joni, especially, receives praise for her patience and ability to work when owners and their pets need more time. Some customers have also seen a significant increase in performance and confidence when training their pets, especially in competitive competition classes like Rally Obedience. Many mentioned the increased lifestyle from the bond they formed with their pets during class and the training when excited rather than wanting to socialize. Several have recommended the club for training classes, and one has mentioned the facilities, adding an extra feature for customers or competitors. Although some students had no complaints about the deco society, the cost of classes has also been praised for their value.
