Yasmin was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and is proud to be a Texan. Her mother immigrated from Mexico, making her a dual citizen. Yasmin received her Bachelor's Degree in 2000 from the University of Notre Dame with a major in Spanish and the Program of Liberal Studies. She earned her J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 2003. She has been an attorney since 2007, focusing exclusively on Immigration Law. She is admitted to the State of New Mexico and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Yasmin's first exposure to immigration law was when she was invited to work with the Department of Immigration of Catholic Charities of San Antonio. There, she embraced her calling to represent immigrant communities, particularly crime victims. Their strength and resilience touched her, and she understood how vital it was to empathize with and comfort them. She was later hired by Catholic Charities. Ten years later, Yasmin left to open Elvora Law Firm. Yasmin created the company to help immigrants. She plans to continue working with crime victims, asylum seekers, and families while also providing services for citizenship, reunification, and other needs. When she is not assisting clients, Yasmin enjoys playing with her dogs and crocheting. She is also an avid fan of the Fighting Irish, the sports team she supports. Let's go Irish!
