George F. Saliba started George Plumbing Company, Inc. in 1947. He began his plumbing career in San Antonio as a master plumber in 1920. An entrepreneur, he founded the company with only $200.00 and a truck panel, Roosevelt Avenue land, and a lot of determination. He later bought the building and land on Olmos Drive. The building was bought by the city for drainage purposes, but it was due to city construction. With the proceeds of the sale to the city in 1957, he built a building and moved to Basse Road. In 1984, Mr. Saliba died and left his company to George L. Saliba. In 2003, the business relocated to Spectrum Drive, San Antonio, due to the construction of a new building.raison d'être was residential and light commercial plumbing repair.
