About Lyn Belisle Studio Lyn Belisle, originally from San Antonio, is an accomplished mixed media artist whose work is widely recognized. Lyn uses Texas clay, wood, beeswax, and found objects, and incorporates paint, paper, sinew, and pastels to create assemblages and collages that are profoundly symbolic and spiritual. Lyn's unique artwork comprises both highly textured and ethereal qualities. Her recent work focuses on creating shrines and reliquaries that are both intimate and communal, rich in history and mystery. Lyn received her art education at Trinity University, San Antonio, and Texas A&M, earning an MA and a BFA. She later taught in public schools for thirty years, and in 2001, she was named Texas Teacher of the Year for her ground-breaking Art and Technology Fusion with at-risk students. Her work has been displayed in national and state galleries. Lyn Belisle Studio has been a past artist-in-residence at Blue Star Contemporary in San Antonio. Lyn teaches creativity workshops in Taos and Santa Fe and classes in mixed-media painting.
