Martin Luther King Academy for Arts Integration

Born on January 15, 1929, Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist minister, Civil Rights Movement activist, and idological leader. His peaceful civil rights protest movement deeply attracted people to his cause and followers. King's faith in Christianity supported his concept of biblical civil rights and nonviolent disobedience, which he learned from Mahatma's nonviolent activism. M.L.K. Academy for Arts Integration educates students that all are holistic. This means all grades need academic competence to investigate, question, create, and practice. Our curriculum is designed to increase student interest, creativity, and expression by emphasizing arts integration techniques. At M.L.K. Academy for Arts Integration, students can integrate the arts in a variety of ways to understand what they've learned (construct understanding) and then show that learning (show comprehension). The school believes that partnerships between school staff, members, and the community will help students acquire social-emotional skills alongside academic learning.
