In April 2005, he chose to move out of the Santa Paula chiropractic clinic he owned since 1988. Together with Kathleen, they relocated their family from California to San Antonio Texas. He wanted to leave the office, relax, and evaluate his life's next chapter. With his family having four children, he had a few years to finish high school for his two youngest daughters. His plan was to take the girls back home from school and tour with Kathleen—to have fun. The five days spent without any activities were calm. On the fifth day, he felt like having a massage. After the massage, the idea came to him. It was a very good idea if they could open a massage center so that people could get massages. The proposed massage was not the type of massage that people could get at spas. For him, it was a therapeutic massage. He had done this several times with his staff back in California. He believed that many people would come to seek such services. Most massage centers provided spa and relaxation experiences. However, he thought that some people would want a sort of massage that was more medical. This was something he had been doing for his staff for many years. He thought a lot about it, and in the coming weeks, he spoke with Kathleen about it several times. He woke up one day in May 2005, saying, "That's it; I'm going to start a business; I'm going to retire now."
