About this business

Positive Recovery Centers - San Antonio Positive Recovery Center's Outpatient Addiction Program is ideal for individuals who can return to work or school and do not require a higher level of care. Our intensive outpatient treatment in San Antonio, TX covers relapse prevention, mental health, and aftercare for substance abuse. This plan is eight hours a week. Our patients don't need 24-hour care, but they can concentrate on their recovery and the transition back into society. Steven is our chemical dependency specialist. Steven has almost four decades of experience in the drug and alcohol treatment field. He is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He also has experience working with troubled teenagers, impaired professionals, and clients involved in the criminal justice system. In 1983, Steven started contacting probation and parole departments. These departments had criminal justice consumers who needed addiction treatment. He founded Alamo Recovery Centers, Inc. The state and county had agreements with his company. They could come to his center instead of going to prison. This program served almost 250 clients each month at three locations from 1994 to 2001.

Reviews Summary

Positive Recovery's reviews show a strong commitment to their students among the staff, particularly Steve Murphy. Steve's one-on-one and group sessions are professional and thought-out. Steve's treatment covers many aspects of addiction and let close relatives be involved in the sessions. The comprehensive program at Positive Recovery taught me cost-free coping mechanisms that I could not get anywhere else. The family program was great, as all my friends and family participated, and I always looked forward to it. This program's inclusiveness alone is enough to make it recommendable for anyone seeking not just to stop abusing substances, but to continuously recover and improve their daily life. I have experienced great change with Steve, including spirituality and improved self-esteem. Thank you, Steve, for showing me I could live again and that worrying was less challenging with the support of professionals. I encourage any other individual that is new to recover from addiction to work with him.
