South Texas Surgeons® was formed in 2003 by an alliance of Drs. Wright and Carcamo, two San Antonio-based general surgeons specializing in laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery. Our surgical services involve stomach, colon, and gallbladder disease therapy. Both open and robotically assisted laparoscopic surgical procedures are available. Drs. Wright and Carcamo are the two most respected bariatric surgeons in America. More than 8,000 secure procedures have been done, including gastric bypass, LAP-BAND®, gastric sleeve and Lap-Band corrections. South Texas Surgeons® provides long-term psychological and nutritional support to weight loss surgery sufferers. STX Surgeons was the first to administer the Orbera stomach ball. They also offer aftercare for patients who underwent surgery at True Results.
