UTSA Southwest Campus, which is the only independent college of arts in Texas, is an Accredited Member of the National Association of Schools of Art & Design. This designation means that the campus offers a remarkable level of arts education. Our mission is to develop student creativity and leadership by promoting unique studio practices and encouraging success in the fine arts. Our institute has the most important collection of art institutions in the USA. Each year, we serve more than 4000 students, including children, teens, and adults through our BFA program. Other educational activities for all ages also take place year-round. Over 225,000 people visit events and view exhibits in a normal year, and many of these people take additional classes, workshops, and visits to historic sites. The campus also hosts contemporary art exhibits and produces educational programming that is free to all. An on-campus museum of history and a cafeteria are additional on the campus for visitors to peruse and consume.
