Reviews Review 1: Kevin is great at what he does Review 2: Kevin is great at what he does Review 3: I hired Kevin Weldon to represent me in my Virginia child support case. I first reached out to him on June 25th to see if he could handle my case. I came prepared, having already done extensive research and providing him with case law, email evidence, text messages, and a personal agreement between my child’s mother and me. On June 26th, he admitted, “this will be a challenge to win, but there is a chance.” After going over the details, he assured me he could make it happen. I paid the retainer on July 1st, and the following day he emailed me saying, “I think we have a good chance based on her agreement. I would also start working with DCSE to address the issue before trial.” My trial date was set for July 22nd. However, between July 2nd and July 15th (when I ended our agreement), Kevin missed four scheduled calls and provided no meaningful updates on my case. The only email I received was, “I have not heard from the DCSE attorney but will follow up. Can you verify date/time of hearing?” Because of the lack of communication and preparation, I decided to represent myself. When I notified him, he replied with case law (Acree v. Acree, 342 S.E.2d 68, 2 Va. App. 151), stating that arrears are typically vested and cannot be waived retroactively. He then requested my card code and promptly processed a full refund of my retainer. Since then, I have called him several times to give an update, but never received a response. In the end, I represented myself and won—my arrears were erased. The only reason I am giving him 2 stars instead of 1 is because he did provide a full refund without any hassle. However, missing scheduled calls and failing to communicate during such a critical time left me extremely disappointed. Hopefully this review reaches him, as it may have just been bad timing on his end. Review 4: I hired Kevin Weldon to represent me in my Virginia child support case.
