I hired Kevin Collins regarding an accidental firearm discharge and he performed well. Fortunately for me, the charge was dismissed. I was highly satisfied with The Collins Law Firm in Portsmouth Virginia. I recommend this Law Firm 2. Let me preface this by stating I did not retain Kevin, however I am the custodial parent of the minor he was representing. The lack of communication was appalling. I reached out on numerous occasions with no correspondence. Upon receiving legal filed paperwork the minor had the complete WRONG NAME. Im not talking a typo, im talking a whole different name. When brought to Kevin's attention he blamed the secretary and laughed it off. Then seemed to be so confused or lost on why he was there. Like had no inkling as to what he was being charged for, then came out to express to us why we were there. Like we didn't already know. Misrepresented what the S.T.O.P. was; referred to it as an ANGER MANAGEMENT program. Not any where close. I called in the week before round when the court case was tobe held and actually find out the date and time. THREE DAYS BEFORE was when the non-custodial parent received an email. At least on the last day he seemed more aware of why he was there. Gets a star for showing up.3. Mr. and Mrs. Collins were absolutely wonderful, and their staff is kind and hardworking. Mrs. Collins handled my custody case, and I was very happy with the results. I later retained them again for a traffic case and once again got the outcome I wanted. They are patient, even though I wasn’t the easiest client, and they truly treat you like family. I hope I don’t have to use their services again, but if I do, I will absolutely retain them. 10/10 recommend.4. Mr. Collins and his secretary Kim took great care of me! Got my reckless driving dropped to a regular speeding ticket. Communication was awesome every step of the way. 10/10 would recommend!5. They Are Number One Thank You So Much For helping6. Being from out of state and receiving a reckless driving ticket in Northampton, Va which could result in a $2500 fine as well as a year in jail I was a nervous wreck. The following day I looked for an attorney in the area and the Collins Law Group came up. I spoke with Mr. Collins on a Sat morning ~So professional, very knowledgeable and very respectful. After our conversation I retained his services and first thing Mon. morning Kim called {their legal assistant} to go over my case, answer all my questions, let me know what had to be done and totally calmed my nerves. Lo and behold on the date of the trial, which I did not have to attend, the charge was reduced to improper driving with a small fine. I was sooooo relieved and could not thank them enough. SOOOOO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!10. Can't tell you have grateful I am for Mr Collins. He was able to get one of my charges dismissed and I only had to pay a court fine11. This office wasn't able to address the needs that I was requiring however the secretary did point me in the right direction I do appreciate12. The Collins Law Firm is simply the best! Hired this group since I am retired military, and this was a car accident my son got into but had a reckless driving charge. Flat rate, which was refreshing. Easy to work with, they did their job! If you are looking for a lawyer that will represent you, give them a call. Hopefully I will not need them again but if I do, they will get a call from me.
