Richmond Ballet

Richmond Ballet was established in 1957 by regional dancers to provide performance opportunities for dance students. The School of Richmond Ballet was initiated in 1975, nearly two decades later, when the company was a small civic dance. The School was the catalyst for the evolution from a student-produced company to the expert ballet company we know today. Richmond Ballet aspires to revitalize and elevate the human spirit with the power of dance, transcending national and cultural boundaries. We are devoted to ballet's development as an expressive language, and we aim to bring people from various parts of the world together into a broader conversation. The Richmond Ballet will try to draw a more comprehensive range of dance students and viewers with inspiring performances, excellent training, and meaningful community connections. Richmond Ballet is dedicated to changing the world with the potency of dance. The company trains and presents dancers in all ages as artist-athletes who can inspire us with their limitless potential. Richmond Ballet will demonstrate the value of life and collaboration as well as the discipline and determination necessary for anything worthwhile.

Richmond Ballet provides performers and students with an excellent experience; their dedication to their work shines through the program. The students get a lot of support. The performance of Swan Lake was AMAZING! COVID measures are well organized. Additionally, related classes and performances are excellent, and included a recent, original studio show. Dancing at Richmond School is an excellent opportunity for a student who is passionate about ballet. Richmond School is safe, is a beautiful building, and is in a convenient location. This is a community-treasured destination, and it was a great decision to join. This is the most positive review a parent and a person who loves ballet have ever left!
