Richmond Dog Obedience Club

RDOC is a volunteer group that focuses on obedience training and educates dog owners on responsible dog ownership. Through this program, owners learn positive, effective training methods, and more about their dogs’ natural behavior and communication skills. The American Kennel Club has licensed the club to conduct obedience tests. We are the only dog obedience organization in the Richmond region. The club was founded in 1959 and has a national reputation as an outstanding training organization. The program’s primary approach ensures that dogs are taught positive and humane methods and discourages the use of severe methods. Recognized with awards at local, national, and international competitions, our instructors have extensive experience. We welcome our dog obedience students to become club members. We also conduct obedience demonstrations for schools, community organizations, and nursing homes. Our club features tattoo clinics and agility, obedience, rally, seminar, Canine Good Citizenship tests, and rally trials. We welcome guests to our meetings, held every first Tuesday. Our group consists of volunteers who love dogs and want to help them become better pets. We offer intermediate training to qualify for the Obedience Titles awarded by the American Kennel Club. Our dog obedience program is fun, informative, and rewarding, and we believe good dog behavior training will create a happy, positive relationship with your dog.
