Richmond Urban Dance

RUD started in 2015. It took a boombox, 8-count chores, and a street corner to get started. We aimed to introduce the city to the dance and see its residents fall in love. We held street sessions every week for the next three years in open spaces. They were successful, and Richmond danced. The House is RUD's current location. We are located in Carver just outside VCU. We use this facility as a training center and a center for church activities, with a focus on outreach. We want to bring street style to the studio. We aim to deliver the passion and raw talent of our community. Our studio reflects our core values. We provide a safe and positive environment for our dancers. We want them to feel at home always as they grow and demonstrate their ability to the community. Financial aid We offer partial or full financial aid to families that feel they cannot afford tuition. Our interest is to ensure that talent in the city is not overlooked or underdeveloped because of financial challenges. We allow applications throughout the year and guarantee a response within one to two weeks. The amount of financial aid available is limited and depends on the generosity of our donors.
