Come to the place that coined the term! The name “Stir Crazy” comes from the concept that you can get hungry anywhere. As long as you have a stove, you can approach the burners and begin to mix things up and stir them up. In this cafe, started by a long-time North Side resident in 2002, we wanted to create a place where people could come to relax and have a great cup of coffee or some delicious food. We opened our doors to the neighborhood to say, “Welcome!” As of September 2018, the new owners have taken over the controls and been stirring up new ideas ever since. We strive to change the food and drink menu to keep things fresh and exciting. Now, you can come in and experience our new menu that offers delicious sandwich, salad, and wrap options. Don’t forget to check out our fresh pastries and lattes. We now also serve wines, beers, and teas. Shake off your cabin fever and come get Stir Crazy! Information Our coffee is roasted and brewed by local purveyors and roasters. We have Counter Culture coffee blends for our drip and espresso. Rostov’s Tea in Richmond supplies our teas, and Snowing in Space Coffee in Charlottesville supplies the rotating Nitro Cold Brew. This means that your money is going back into the local economy. Coffee and tea contain a lot of caffeine. Sometimes the extra caffeine will give you a headache or make you dizzy. Sometimes your stomach will hurt. Remember that water is your friend! Drink around half an ounce of water per pound of body weight each day to avoid any caffeine-related issues.
