I spent over a decade working in law enforcement and dealt with many different types of attorneys. I know what constitutes a good attorney and It's my opinion that Mr Sybrandy misrepresents the judicial system using unethical practices to obtain the outcome he wants. Mr Sybrandy attempted to coerce a friend of mine out of court into signing legal court documents before she even had the opportunity to retain private counsel. He did this because he knew once she retained her own attorney he would not have the skills or opportunity to win the case. That's one of the most dishonest and unethical things any attorney can do. I worked outside the state of Washington but the laws and rules of our Nations judicial system are the same. The code of ethics among attorneys is as well. Integrity is the most important thing when searching for a person to represent "you". I would never want a person like this representing me (actually misrepresenting) me in a court of law. Integrity is everything when retaining private counsel to represent you. It could be considered a negative reflection of you when being misrepresented by another person so it's really important to research any attorney before retaining them. Hopefully my advice will help others who are searching for legal counsel to know what to look for and how it can affect the outcome of your entire case. Richard Sybrandy is the very epitome of a scumbag attorney. He has no morals, I have witnessed first hand his unethical tactics both in and outside of the courtroom. If he had a soul, he would sell it to the devil in order to accomplish his goals.7. Gave my partner and I the run around for almost 2 months as to whether or not he would represent us in a case under the pretense of "reviewing the case". Ridiculously difficult to get ahold of. Two weeks before the court date he tells us he won't be assisting anymore and has left us scrambling to find a new lawyer. Shameful; would not recommend him.8. Great family law attorney! I am so incredibly grateful for Mr. Sybrandy. He is straight forward, honest, and can see through the bullsh*t. He worked really hard for us and always returned calls/emails quickly. In the courtroom, the man is amazing. I think that's where he really shines. I appreciate that in our interactions, he is a straight shooter. By getting us custody, he has literally changed our child's life for the better. Our situation was a bit different as it was a father trying to get custody from a mother. Other lawyers told us that you can't get custody from a mother, even with a mountain of evidence that she is unfit. Mr. Sybrandy looked at the situation and discussed at length with us with best solution for the child and then got to work fighting, really for the child more than for us. I can't thank him enough. 13. He helped me a year ago with my custody issues and I didn’t even have to do a thing. Money well spent . He saved my baby from a horrible situation and I would use him again for sure !14. He did not even try, overcharged me and never prepared ... He works the mount vernon courthouse, and let the judge and my spouse's lawyer ( who was better) have their way with me . He is very bad....
