Review of Roach & Bishop by Leticia C. Review of Roach & Bishop by K.S. Review of Roach & Bishop by Katie S. Review of Roach & Bishop by K.M. Review of Roach & Bishop by J.E. As traumatized survivors of domestic violence, one would assume that this caption refers to our abusers. However, it is not. These comments express irreparable damage from attorney Mariah Lujano at Roach & Bishop LLP. That is not justice. It is additional trauma. +:+ My attorney was no help. I was silenced. I was manipulated. I was taken advantage of. When I questioned my attorney, she dismissed my concerns and lied to me by claiming the prosecutor had additional evidence against me that I had not seen, using that claim to pressure me into accepting a plea deal. I was confused, scared, and felt completely helpless. When I asked her to show me this supposed “new information,” she refused and instead told me to request it myself from law enforcement. She actively encouraged me to do so, even though she knew I was under a deadline and that this “new information” never existed. When I contacted the Sheriff’s Office and Police Department directly, I did not receive additional evidence because none existed. By the time it became clear there was no new information, it was too late. I was forced to plead guilty under pressure, without any actual evidence of abuse against me. +:+ My attorney from Roach & Bishop then told me that the so-called “victim” was considered more credible than I was. Why? I called the police for help the same day. I had photographs of my bruises. There was no evidence against me. Instead, law enforcement relied on false character attacks, claiming I “do drugs” and am “crazy.” None of this was true. I have never done drugs in my life. I was nearly forced into drug court, which would have cost me my job due to the requirements, despite there being absolutely no basis for it. Once the plea was entered, they stopped caring. The case was “done,” and I was left to deal with the lifelong consequences. Years later, I now understand that I did have a choice. I was told repeatedly that I did not. That realization has been devastating. I am still living with the aftermath of pleading guilty to something I never wanted to plead to and am not guilty of. The court system failed me. The evaluators involved were corrupt and failed to provide expert reports they promised, placing me at risk of jail time and even losing my children, all because a partner retaliated after I called the police for help. They are corrupt. They do not protect victims.undefined
