Hello, my name is Tim Burdick. I own Burdick’s Security, and I would love to tell you about my company. The business was initially named Burdick’s Locksmith Service, and my father, Daryl Burdick, founded it in 1959. In the first two years, my father worked from his Columbia City house, and my mother Arlene ran the phone and bookkeeping. A small shop was rented on Rainier Ave, near Alaska Street. We renamed our firm Burdick’s Security Hardware Service Inc. in 1987 after purchasing Burdick’s Lock, a business my parents owned. The new name reflected the services we offered. The locksmithing business was growing, but we were also adding commercial door hardware and safe sales and service. Today, Burdick’s Security is an 80% business-to-business operation. We install, sell, and service access control (card readers, keyless entry, and video surveillance), alarm and alarm monitoring systems, safes, and high-security key control systems. We strive to provide professional and polite service to our customers. We aim to educate and inform our customers about their security. We are not just security providers; we are Security Consultants.
