Law Office of Carl J. Marquardt PLLC

Carl Marquardt has lived in Seattle for more than twenty-five years. He is a commercial litigator with a trial man, business lawyer, and advisor to business owners and investors. Previously, he served as the Legal Counsel to the Mayor of Seattle. Carl grew up in Missoula Montana and obtained his BA from Yale University (1988) and J.D. (1993) from the University of Washington School of Law. From 1994 to 1996, he served as a law clerk for Honorable Mary K. Becker of the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division I. In 1997, he joined Stokes Lawrence P.S., a Seattle-based law firm where he served until 2007. Carl was an associate and then a shareholder at Stokes Lawrence. While there, he represented companies in some of the most difficult lawsuits across the United States. In the local Seattle region, he represented family-owned businesses and real estate owners who were involved in complex litigation. As Carl's career progressed, he wanted to explore other ways to help people avoid litigation.
