Catholic Community Services (CCS) offers a full continuum of Substance Use Disorder Treatment Services in Snohomish and Whatcom counties. Addiction can be treated and recovery is possible using the CCS Philosophy. CCS also has two specialist recovery and treatment centers located in King County. Catholic Community Services (CCS) is one of the official human service outreach arms for the Catholic Church of Western Washington. Full-time staff and volunteers give loving, compassionate service in response to the Gospel call. Their service is guided by Archbishop Paul D. Etienne and their Boards of Trustees. They are especially dedicated to the sanctity of life from conception through natural death and the dignity of every person. CCS and CHS are incorporated apostolates within the Catholic Church of Western Washington and have offered help and hope to men, women and children for generations. CCS began over 100 years ago and consists of twelve family centers located in Western Washington. Long Term Care, Family Behavioral Health and Family Behavioral Health Systems are also included. Catholic Housing Services (CHS) is a permanent rental housing program that has been operating for more than thirty years. It was established in 2002 as a non-profit organization (501(c) receipt was from the Catholic Charities Foundation of Western Washington). It was organized to provide future assistance to the most needy and vulnerable residents of Western Washington. This was achieved through programs, shelters, and services provided by Catholic Community Services, Catholic Housing Services, and Catholic Community Services. CCS/CHS's mission emanates from and is grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, a tradition that spans 2,000 years. Over time, these teachings have evolved from the Bible to what we have today, challenging us to more responsible living and giving priority to the poor and marginalized. This social justice teaching is an ongoing learning process that challenges us to change with the times. CCS/CHS says that the organization is a company dedicated to helping those who are struggling with poverty, intolerance, racism, and discrimination. It also notes that they are committed to teaming up with others in promoting justice. CCS/CHS helps people in crisis without regard for their religion, economics, or ethnicity. CCS/CHS believes that its cooperative relationship with the government is driven by its theology and Catholic Church traditions. They note that their cooperation does more good for individuals and families and improves society overall. CCS/CHS states that they are supported by the Archbishop of Seattle, the Archdiocese Seattle, and Catholic parishes in Western Washington. They also add that many Catholics and non-Catholics fund their work, and contracts for service provision also fund them. Their funding also comes from private fees and insurance programs for corporations, foundations, and municipalities, counties and regional entities, as well as the State of Washington.
