About Us Montlake Bicycle Shop was founded by Neil Wechsler in 1980 because he enjoyed bicycles. When Neil started the company, it was a one-man show. Our purpose today has not changed. We are in the business because we enjoy bicycles and helping people maximize their enjoyment. In 1983, we moved across the street from 2202, where we started because we outgrew the building. The mountain bike scene was becoming popular, and our mountain bike selection was growing. There was more than ten-speed. The bike industry has changed a lot. The technology driving the industry has improved a lot. Our business has changed a lot. We are not the same shop we were. Our bicycles are a significant connection to our past. We work hard to stay current in the industry so that we can address the needs of our customers. Our commitment to providing excellent service to the local community and anyone passing through our doors has remained strong. Our Local Bike Shop at Montlake Bicycle Shop The company is locally owned and operated. The management believes that bicycles have the power to heal the world. Our support team is committed to ensuring that we have a wide range of complete suspension bikes and commuter electric-bikes. We aim to help you find the right bike for you. Therefore, your needs can be met right here at your local bicycle shop. For more than 40 years, Montlake Bicycle Shop, Seattle's oldest shop, has been home to our community's cyclists. We know your bike is important. It's your connection to the city. It's your ticket to staying fit. It's your escape. Trust your bike to our community-focused shop.

Feedback on Montlake Bicycle shop: Customer service is excellent, with widespread reports of compassion and helpfulness. From a stolen bike retrieval to free tuneup repairs, employees go out of their way to support customers. Customers also praise the wide range of bike choices and in-store services, such as loaner helmets, purchase advice, and quick fixes. Many customers also appreciate the lack of pricing pressure; their satisfaction is more critical than making a sale. One drawback is the shop is not perfect, as some had bad experiences with store employees. Still, most customers are pleased with Montlake and suggest it as the best option in Seattle. Loyal shoppers and new clients are drawn to the shop\'s welcoming environment and commitment to the community. Customers also report stopping by on the Arboretum's free demo days, reflective of their involvement and thoughtful customer experience. Customers, including those who have been around bikes, confirm that Montlake sets a high bar for bike shopping. However, the shop\'s accurate, blissful customer comments suggest that this location is a grateful exception.
