ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

Navos is a healing sanctuary for kids and the elderly, adults who might be overlooked, underserved, or at high risk of slipping through the cracks, without any other options, and viewed by people as a last resort. We see health and wellness as attainable for every person, and we strive tirelessly to alleviate mental illness and addiction through a full continuum of services. We recognize that we have a long way to go to achieve our goal of being as culturally responsive as possible. Our goal is to develop an organization that is culturally competent and inclusive in all we do. There are many ways to provide support, treatment, and healing to King County residents, whether poor people, wealthy people, or middle-class people, who have a mental illness, a substance use disorder, or both. Advocacy means not just caring for adults but also children such as those who have been traumatized or homeless. At Navos, our people-first, engagement approach encompasses the whole person in their health and wellbeing journey. We approach services with compassion, with a desire to hear and learn from our clients’ stories. We understand that their stories and experiences are often the vehicles to recovery; that is why we look for experts who love what they do. Our team of experts is grounded in behavioral health science and delivers their knowledge with the energy of people truly passionate about helping others. We also know that many of our clients have been impacted by someone they love struggling with mental illness. We understand that being culturally competent means being respectful and sensitive to the cultural beliefs, healing practices, and existential-cultural needs of all the people we serve. We believe that this principle is a core foundational requirement for all behavioral health professionals within our organization, enabling us to provide services that are culturally responsive and culturally relevant in our outreach, prevention, assessment, intervention, and treatment efforts.
