Olson Energy Service is a family-owned business that has been managed since its founding. We still remember the slogan my grandfather taught us: We're here to help. Grandpa Garnett Olson started Olson Fuel Company in Seattle in 1926 to supply firewood and coal. It was started as a heating delivery service but expanded to heating oil delivery in the 1930s when coal was contraindicative. After serving as an Air Force pilot in World War II, my grandfather Carl began working there in 1945. In 1970, my dad Robert, a Vietnam War veteran, joined him. The company moved from Northlake Avenue in Ballard to Leary Way NW. In 1985, Edd, my grandfather's son, joined the company. Under Robert's guidance, Olson Fuel began providing cooling and natural gas heating services. As a Customer Service Representative, I began working for my family's business in 1996. Grandpa Carl served until his death in 2007. My uncle and dad ran Olson Fuel for years until they retired in 2010. Then they returned in 2014. Olson Fuel was renamed Olson Energy Service in the early 1990s. This business name change, which was planned by Robert and Edd, was seen to reflect the numerous products and service deliveries as we moved with technology. I have played a key role in the success of the business so far. I try to continue the tradition of helping others and treating them fairly with all I do. I have observed my father and grandfather doing this. They have taught us how to be customer-friendly and genuine. Grandpa's family-run energy service has provided valuable rights, and this has been proven, which shows that this is the right thing. My family, which is the foundation of the business, has led to my management role today. My customers expect the same courtesy, enthusiasm, and honor that has made Olson Energy so successful. Since 2014, I have continued to achieve top ratings and the best experience for clients in a supportive atmosphere that treats them as the most important people.
