Introduction Sea-Town Real Estate is a West Seattle-based technology-enabled indie real estate firm that prioritizes its agents and clients. It was created in 2017 by Christian Harris, a national speaker, author, podcaster, husband, and father. Christian started it, and by their second year, they had grown organically to 14 agents only through the reputation they created. Christian’s real claim to fame was to consistently get amazing results and great experiences for his clients. When they were three years into running the brokerage, COVID-19 struck, and, like many small entrepreneurs, they had to reflect on what their options were and consider all possibilities. Opportunity for a Pivot After much contemplation, Christian saw the opportunity for a pivot to go virtual. He converted his brand and agents into a Sea-Town Team model, transitioning to a cloud-based brokerage and joining eXp Realty. This move helped him to cut 80% of their costs and a good portion of their time. He was able to serve his agents and clients better through the pivot than he ever thought he could while operating a brokerage. With this transformation, Christian had the best of both worlds. He could support his agents and access more tools cheaper through eXp Realty. His goal was to serve and impact the community through realty, and now he could do both. Christian’s Creation Christian started the Alexa Flash Briefing, "West Seattle Daily," as a way to support local communities and neighborhoods. He started The Sea-Town Podcast in 2016, where he interviewed local entrepreneurs, business owners, and community leaders to help them tell their story, which helps spread awareness about the great non-profits and businesses in their area. Christian also co-founded RE:Think Real Estate Podcast, designed to offer top-notch advice, best practices, and news for every real estate agent and broker across the United States.
