Seattle Collaborative Law Center, PLLC The idea for Seattle Collaborative Law Center, PLLC came to me in a dream in 2008. It was a revelation when I finished my basic collaborative training and felt like “coming home”. From that time, I have spent the last few years intensively exploring both Collaborative Practice and Leadership within the Collaborative Community. Luckily, I have been able to do this evolution in a Collaborative Community filled with Collaborative innovators and pioneers who have been generous with their support and time. I started writing articles and blogs, then I took board positions in the Collaborative Community in Washington State. Until most recently, I was a Board Member of International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the organizing body of the Collaborative Community. It has been clear from the outset of my work in Collaborative that a legal process incorporating the fundamental principles of good faith and respect and full disclosure is a more solid foundation for conflict resolution. It is the antidote to the financial, emotional and psychological injury frequently associated with the alternate dispute resolution model that is litigation. I will never forget a client who said, “I don't want to go to war.” Most people do not wish to be at war. They want to feel heard, safe, and financially secure. They want a fair settlement conference or to have judgment made by someone else who may not meet and understand their needs or interests. They want a better place to have their conflict resolved. I am devoted to making it simple for professionals and consumers to learn and receive compassionate, quality professional services.
