Seattle's Union Gospel Mission: Legal Services:
Seattle's Mission is the Seattle Union Gospel Mission, a non-profit Christian organization that has served homeless individuals in greater Seattle since 1932. The organization serves homeless people in the greater Seattle area. The Great Depression entrenched itself in 1932, and we stepped forward to help people who were affected by the Great Depression. One borrowed soup pot has become three views that provide hundreds of homeless people with meals every day. We also offer drug and alcohol rehabilitation for individuals and education for adult learners. We exist to bring love and hope to our homeless neighbors by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We envision every neighbor to be loved, saved, and restored. Homelessness can be eradicated if its causes are addressed. We do this by providing long-term support programs, relationships and meeting immediate physical needs. We work with someone who was homeless to help them live a healthy and thriving life. In the Seattle area, we serve an increasing number of homeless individuals. We believe that everybody is loved and cared for by God, and by us, regardless of what they have faced in their past situation.
