Temple Building - Upper School Humanities
Seattle Academy is located in Seattle’s urban neighborhood of Capitol Hill. Its diversity and social engagement, as well as the experience of living in a dynamic, metropolitan area, enhance the lives of SAAS students. The Seattle Academy location is intentional to support our mission of preparing them for college and life.
The Arts Department includes Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual & Media Arts. It assumes that every student is innately creative. Creativity is supported through the environment and curriculum that the Arts Department creates. The Arts Department integrates academic and social-emotional learning. It also encourages the School's Culture of Performance. In all departments, students learn skills and habits of mind that prepare them to approach and tackle complex problems creatively. All students may take several classes in each art area. Students who want to spend more time on their art and practice it regularly will find an audition track in each department.
