Opinions from Clients SB Law Was Able to Support: Alison Petri meeting is a major disappointment of an experience, do NOT recommend this place! I met with her ONCE for a consultation for only an hour to discuss possible hire for a probate case and I assumed this wouldn’t be a charge, well assuming was a bad idea I guess because surprise surprise I got a bill in the mail for $395!! So, I called their office and was told they don’t do free consults and won’t budge at all on this obnoxious charge. I could understand a small fee for her time given I did not hire her (because she wouldn’t even listen to what I was concerned with/asking for representation on, she already decided before I arrived what I was looking for and it wasn’t correct so I went with a different- more eager to listen & help me law firm) but to charge me 4 HUNDRED dollars for a short CONSULT is TERRIBLE service! Money hungry place for sure. I truly have nothing but positive things to say. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, professional, and pleasant. The attorneys are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also down-to-earth and approachable—they do a fantastic job of breaking down complex legal concepts in a way that’s easy to understand. What really stands out is that they don’t over-sell or pressure you. Instead, they focus on identifying your specific needs and guiding you toward the best course of action. The staff is friendly, responsive, and a joy to work with. I highly recommend this firm to anyone looking for honest, clear, and expert legal support. Very easy to work with. We just had a visit with a very competent and helpful lawyer. We talked about, our estate, end of life decisions, and power of attorney. At our age it is very comforting to have all our final wishes done. It was a good session and our lawyer asked all the right questions and gave us all the right answers. Thomas is an affable person. We recently lost a family member, and needed assistance with probate as there was no will. Representation at this firm was able to successfully navigate the pitfalls of probate, and help us establish executor-ship, so that we could sell the estate, and recover our loved one's assets. However we feel as if we were over charged: We were not told up front how much the whole case would cost. We were charged a retainer, which was quickly surpassed. Our feeling is that there wasn't that much work that was put into this case in the first place--given that the estate sold and everything was resolved within 6 months from retaining counsel. A few forms had to be filed with the state/court and there were a few dependents. With that, we ended up paying this firm close to $8,000.00. This was after the firm agreed to reduce our bill after we balked at what they were going to charge us. We felt like we had no choice to pay it as we were nearing the end of the case as everything had already been filed. I showed our bills to a local attorney and he said he would have done everything they did for under $5,000.00. Excellent team. Responsive, effective and efficient.
